If you are reading this section is means that is highly likely that you are
married and will bring your family while you study your masters or PhD. The
first thing you need to know is that you are not alone, there are several
families that have done this and others that are currently here and can give you
some advice.
Your options can be divided by the fact if you have or not
children, therefore there is Accommodation for Couples and Accommodation for
Families.
For couples there are only a couple of options: a) paired
rooms in Constable Terrace, or b) twin rooms in Suffolk and Norfolk Terrace. The
main difference between them is that in Constable Terrace you have en-suite
accommodation (the bathroom is inside you room) and Suffolk/Norfolk Terrace have
shared bathrooms.
If you are coming with kids you will have the option to ask
for two-three bedroom houses (depends on the area) either: a) Suffolk Walk, b)
Village Close, or c) Bowthorpe. There is a waiting list since there are not many
houses (about 55), so as soon as you know you're coming fill out the online
accommodation form. All houses/flats have two levels, Suffolk Walk and Village
Close have 2 bedrooms while Bowthorpe houses have 3 bedrooms mostly. Suffolk
Walk and Village Close are located 10 minutes walking from UEA at the most, but
Bowthorpe houses are located about 30 minutes walking. There is a bus (#21 and
#22) that go from Roy's in Bowthorpe to the City Centre, and they can drop you
off next to the Village Close in UEA.
