Rules of the MexSocUEA
The Mexican Society, as well as all clubs and societies of the UEA, is subject
to the rules and policies of the "Union of UEA Students". A copy of said
document is available in the website of the "Union of Students".
In this section we point out some important points that regulate the activities
of the Mexican Society. If you have a question regarding the rules mentioned
below, or any other point, do not hesitate to contact any member of the
committee.

Any society requires a least 30 members to be able to be registered in the
"Union of Students". These members can be all students with current UEA
registration, their family members and external people previous authorization
by the "Union of Student"". Family members or external people cannot be part
of the committee, although they do enjoy voting privileges.

Each member shall have to pay a minimum subscription fee of £5.00 for
students and associate members, and £10.00 for lifetime members; this fee
allows you to participate in any of the activities established by the
Society. This fee also carries extra benefits such as reduction in prices
of activities that have an entrance fee.

The
money collected by the Society shall be administered by the ‘Union of
Students’ and shall be used for financing the activities of the
Society.

The
Committee Members shall be elected annually; re-election to the same post is not possible.

Meetings
can only be convened by Committee Members, and the agreements reached shall only be
valid if there is at least a quorum of 50% of the current membership.

The
Committee shall administrate and organize the Society activities and rules.
They shall assign specific activities to members and workgroups in concordance
with the members and rules of the Society.

The
decisions of the Committee shall have to be approved by the majority of the
members present in the meetings.

Any
decision made by the Committee in a meeting can be rejected if
at least 67% of the members present in the meeting so vote.

Any
change to the Society Constitution or the objectives of the Society
requires the approval of 75% of the members present in the meeting
as well as approved by the ‘Union of Students’.
